Neck Stretch – First and foremost, keep the rest of your body straight, then simply push your chin forward in a way that your throat gets stretched. Mildly tense your neck muscles and stay in that position for 5 seconds. Follow it with returning your head to the center and pushing it backwards, keeping your chin up. Stay in this position for 5 seconds. Repeat this exercise 5 times.
Neck Tilt – Tilt your head down to an extent that you can rest your chin on your chest. Gently tense your neck muscles and stay in that position for 5 seconds. Return to your neutral position and repeat the same exercise 5 times.
Neck Turn – Turn your head towards one side, with the chin kept at the same height and move it within comfortable limits. Mildly tense your neck muscles and stay in that same position for 5 seconds. Bring your head back to center and repeat the same on the opposite side. Repeat this exercise 5 times on each side.
Neck tilt (side to side) – This exercise involves you tilting your head down towards your shoulder, leading with your ear. Slowly tense your neck muscles and stay in that position for 5 seconds. Bring back your head to neutral position and repeat the same exercise on the other side. Repeat 5 times on each side.
Remember to stay active while going through a neck pain as bed rest for than a couple of days will make it harder for you to get going. Slow increase your mobility and indulge in regular exercise.
